A day after the majority decision of the German Bundestag to participate in the war in Ukraine, there is finally audible protest against the fateful course of the German government: Alice Schwarzer (photo) and her magazine "Emma" have received a science, art, literature and other fields”Open letter to Chancellor Scholz”, which was co-signed by more than 50.000 Germans in no time. Trend: there are more and more. The letter urged Scholz to reconsider his "original position and not to supply Ukraine with heavy weapons, either directly or indirectly."
It is doubtful whether this admonition is heard and read by the Federal Chancellor. And some passages of the letter could also be worded quite differently, in view of the reasons for the war and the now very openly admitted enormous involvement of the US and NATO in the bloody event. But that's secondary.
What counts is the act and great resonance of the first spectacular act of resistance against a policy of self-damaging sanctions, which in no way corresponds to the objective interests of the German people. Others must and will follow this step, all the more so as the majority in the Bundestag in no way reflects the mood, concerns and justified fears in large parts of the population.
It is absolutely no surprise that the open letter is now provoking angry reactions from those who are not only sharing but actually fueling the official course of war. When a notorious soldier in the "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" today slanders the text as "capitulation", the FDP fury Strack-Zimmermann spits poison and bile and of course also gives the inevitable ambassador of the Ukraine and Nazi fan Andrij Melnik a penny , then the initiative of “Emma” has already been very successful.
And that, you will hardly believe it, the very old house and court philosopher of the Federal Republic of Germany, Jürgen Habermass, has expressed his reservations about the Berlin war course (not as a signatory), ensures in the Frankfurt Central Organ of the Russian Haters directly in front of an absurdly weakly argumentative panic response from the pen of Simon Strauss, the sadly spoiled son of the writer Botho Strauss.
Surely there will be many negative reactions from all those who have been daring themselves in the delusion that in the very corrupt, impoverished, but extremely militarized Ukraine of the Zelensky regime the West and the western "values" would be defended. . Now it is time to speed up social protest and resistance to the consequences of militarization and sanctions. Most certainly, the great majority of Germans do not want to suffer the cold, lose their usually modest standard of living or even die for the western “victory” in Ukraine.
Incidentally, protests break out in Germany against hatred of Russia. People who dare to look at both sides of the story. (source)
